Growth Marketing Manager
Hummingbird Drones is a BC-based tech company that’s been helping detect and fight wildfires since 2015. We build tools that make a real-world impact—and we care deeply about doing it well. Our team is tight-knit, talented, and always pushing to do better.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to lead the charge on our software, Nova’s marketing strategy and execution. From launching and optimizing campaigns that bring in new customers to building a brand that emergency teams around the world trust, you’ll be the driving force behind our marketing engine. You’ll own the full marketing funnel—from crafting compelling content and launching performance-driven ad campaigns to spearheading strategic partnership and brand initiatives.
This role reports directly to the CEO and will work closely with product, sales, and leadership teams to shape Nova’s voice in the market and accelerate our growth. This is a rare opportunity to shape the brand of a fast-growing SaaS platform in a high-impact industry.
Candidates must be based in Victoria, BC, to work closely with our in-office team in our vibrant downtown office, where collaboration and hands-on learning are at the heart of our dynamic work environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead our customer acquisition strategy across organic and paid channels
Build and grow Nova’s brand awareness in the public safety and emergency response space
Own content creation for all marketing channels (social, email, blog, website, paid ads, and more)
Plan and run brand-building initiatives including webinars and strategic partnerships
Collaborate with product and leadership teams to translate product updates into compelling campaigns
Analyze marketing performance and continuously optimize for growth
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor strategies, and new tools
What to Expect in Your First 3 Months:
Dive deep into our brand identity, tone of voice, and customer base
Audit and lead content creation efforts, building a content calendar and executing across key channels
Collaborate with sales and leadership to shape a unified growth and acquisition strategy
Take ownership over paid ad campaigns
Begin building relationships with partners, customers, and industry influencers to support future marketing opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
A strategic, analytical and hands-on marketer who’s excited to build and lead
Experience creating content for social media, especially video
Experience planning and managing paid acquisition campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
Strong writing skills for web, blog, email, and ad copy
Experience working cross-functionally with product or sales teams
Someone who’s either ready to step up into a manager-level role or has a couple of years of experience leading a small team
Bonus Points For:
Experience in technology companies for public safety, emergency response, or government sectors
Graphic design skills (Figma, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite)
Experience using tools & software like Pipedrive, Google Analytics, Framer
We think this is a pretty special place to work. Here's why:
You’ll be part of a mission-driven company doing work that matters
You’ll work with a fun, talented, and supportive team that’s genuinely excited to be here
The office energy is high (music’s always playing), and collaboration is constant
There are dogs. Really good dogs.
Perks & Benefits:
A competitive salary, plus health & dental benefits
Flexible paid vacation + extra time off during the holidays
A vibrant office in Victoria, with the option to work from home when needed
Flexible work hours and a team that trusts you to get things done
